Pipa and boccale’s short stories represent a very original parenthesis in Salvatore Di Giacomo's production. The purpouse of this essay will be the analysis of some of the fantastic stories contained in the collection, that nowadays even risk being lost: Brutus, La fine di Barth, l’Odochantura Melanura. Particular attention will be paid to the theme of death, which takes on different meanings in the fantastic context. Finally, the theoretical models of Todorov and Remo Ceserani will be an essential point of reference in the discussion.
