The essay offers an analysis of Mario Tobino’s L’Angelo del Liponard, aimed at emphasizing some of its thematic and narrative aspects that refer to an antimimetic representation of reality. Beyond the attention to psychological introspection and uncovered autobiography, the work of the author from Viareggio always remains anchored to a realistic description of environments, situations, events. Yet, in the Angelo del Liponard, it is possible to identify several incursions of the fantastic. The interpretative tools of textual criticism and semiotics are adopted.
