Praeexercitamina) are use ful not only to rhetorical, but also to moral and civic education: the selection of some anec dotes and ethopoeiae concerning the figure of Alexander the Great is part of a broader project of political education aimed at defining the outline of an ideal monarch and legitimizing an autocratic power among the students. The distance from Latin declamation is evident.
