In this paper, I discuss a peculiar list of body part found in a Hittite ritual text (KUB 7.1+), in which the hands occur at the end of the list, after the knees. Based on other lists found in Hittite texts, it is argued that the list of KUB 7.1+ ends with knees and hands, without the feet, because the child for whom the ritual was performed did not yet walk, but crawled.

Abstract
In this paper, I discuss a peculiar list of body part found in a Hittite ritual text (KUB 7.1+), in which the hands occur at the end of the list, after the knees. Based on other lists found in Hittite texts, it is argued that the list of KUB 7.1+ ends with knees and hands, without the feet, because the child for whom the ritual was performed did not yet walk, but crawled.File in questo prodotto:
