«GRABGÖTTINNEN» AUS KYRENE. Puppen für Bestattungen und Rituale

ENGLISH ABSTRACT: Cyrene is a monumental Greek colony in eastern north Africa (founded in the VIII century BC) and recent excavations, surveys and studies have brought to light examples of dolls coming both from funerary contexts and sanctuaries. Several articulated dolls in terracotta are attested, unfortunately mostly from collections in museums without any contextualization, however some contextualised examples from funerary contexts, both Greek and Roman, are now giving interesting information. GERMAN ABSTRACT:Kyrene war eine monumentale antike griechische Stadt im heutigen Libyen, die im 8. Jh. v. Chr. gegründet wurde. Bei jüngsten Grabungen kamen Puppen ans Licht, die aus Bestattungen sowie Heiligtümern stammen. Es waren bereits Gliederpuppen aus Terrakotta bekannt, die sich jedoch meist ohne Kontext in musealen Sammlungen befinden. Nun liefern Exemplare aus griechischen und römischen Bestattungskontexten interessante Informationen.
