In 1978 Giulio Carlo Argan presented at Trajan's Markets in Rome an exhibition entitled "Roma interrotta" showing the drawings of 12 international architects for the urban design of Rome, based on the 12 tablets of the Pianta grande di Roma by Giambattista Nolli (1748).The invited authors were among the most renowned designers of the time and the event took the form of an international icon of urban design: 30 years after the Venice Architecture Biennale decides to re-expose the designs attracting significant international interest, also in mainland China. Abstract
