Developing a theoretical core of L. In the contemporary era, utopian thought articulates a complex and multifaceted reflection on this motif, of which an interpretative line can be traced, in an exemplary way, in the works of E.M. Forster (1909), A. Huxley (1958) and Y.N. Harari (2015). These narrative and essayistic texts attest to the process, which seems to be reaching completion today, of the complete overlap of politics and technoscience and document the passing of the thresholds of utopia on two interconnected levels. On the general historical and social one where the transcendence of the anthropological threshold and the passage from utopia to ideology are recorded. On the hermeneutic and heuristic level of the social reception of utopian thought in which, in a historically and sociologically contingent epistemic tension, the substantial indistinction between utopia and dystopia is revealed.

Abstract

Developing a theoretical core of L. Marin (1993) on utopia as a frontier and threshold, the article discusses the thesis of a utopian paradigm constituted by the relationship, constitutive of the Modern, between the state-form and technoscientific progress (Cacciari 2016).
