The purpose of the research is to examine the integrity of the urban image of a significant element of Abruzzo cultural heritage, the Prato della Fiera district in Lanciano (Ch), with the goal of highlighting certain aspects of the identity of a historic mercantile city that preserves one of the first examples of sustainable collective housing in Abruzzo. A further contribution to the protection – documentation, conservation, safeguarding and management – of an environmental heritage in central Italy. The direct reading of the archival drawings kept at various institutional archival locations of ATER has revealed the intention of the designers to create models of collective housing units for sustainable living. The research compares, within the framework of an environmental survey campaign based on a systematic survey project, graphic and infographic representations, restoring color and light, or the chromatic and material expression, which characterizes these urban backdrops. Testimony to a rigorous and conscious compositional process, recognizable in the evident control of construction techniques and materials, but above all in the executive phase of qualified artisanal skills. Abstract
A quality of sustainable urban landscape that permanently characterizes these urban spaces a hundred years after their conception.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
