To reinforce the scientific understanding around these topics, along with the progression of the scientific debates about positive ways of living and consuming the environments, the Volume 28 of the Rivista Italiana di Ergonomia [Italian Journal of Ergonomics] promotes a reflection on the strategic topic ‘Ergonomics for a Sustainable Wellbeing’. This is done through a collection of works coming from different fields. Volume 28 intends to address the pressing need for innovative solutions and ways of rethinking the environments to tackle the complex issues of human-environment interaction under a sustainable perspective. Accordingly, the human side related to design interventions are critically assessed against environmental features to introduce initial discussion via novel interdisciplinary studies. Through this collection of scientific essays, the editors intend to stimulate a reflection on the role that HFE can play at different levels.
