The Senhance Surgical System (TransEnterix, Morrisville, NC, USA) is a novel robotic system used in several centers across the world [1], but there are currently reports from only two centers that use it for robotic radical prostatec- tomy (RRP) [2,3]. Samalavicius et al [3] reported on their first 100 Senhance-assisted procedures, 27 of which were RRP. They concluded that the system is adaptable and safe for different surgical procedures, including RRP. From November 2019 to February 2020 we have performed 40 extraperitoneal RRPs using the Senhance Surgical System. The Senhance system provides several important advantages over laparoscopy and other robotic platforms. It features technology such as three-dimensional vision and eye-tracking for better visualization, haptic feedback, and a comfortable, adjustable seating position that ensures optimal surgical ergonomics and precision. Considerable surgical proficiency is gained after 30 cases and the learning curve is shorter for surgeons with previous laparoscopic experience.
