Low back pain is common among blue collar workers. The sanitary staff of the CNA of Pescara in collaboration with Chieti University studied manual handling of weights on 60 workers in storerooms. The study investigated the risk perception and efficacy of formation and information among workers. Moreover, the NIOSH index on operation of empting and lifting was determined. 3 workers, after 4 years of activity in storeroom, referred low back pain; one among these people showed initial clinical alterations documented by instrumental exams. Some female workers referred pain in arms, perhaps due to repeated movements.
