Spinoza e Sartre, commedianti e martiri: Causa sui e inconscio tra in-sé e per-sé

The aim of this paper is to demonstrate that there is an unconscious dimension in Sartre’s thought that can be found starting from the very rela- tionship between in-itself and for-itself, which has its roots in the comparison between Descartes and Spinoza. This unconscious is thematized, for example, in the psychobiographies and it constitutes the principal theoretical limit in Sartre’s thought because it pertains not only to the world and its objects, but also to the subjectivity of the living consciousness.
