The research is the latest outcome of a long study on the representation of the poetics of the ephemeral in architecture, aiming to document their historical identity and safeguard them against dispersion. These delicate, ‘forgettable’ forms of creativity are often not yet historicized and thus not always transmissible, and require ongoing study to update their historicization within the field of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Shared by researchers of the Department of Architecture of the ‘G. d’Annunzio’ University of Chieti–Pescara, this phase explores two representational poetics of the Italian landscape: from the abandonment of ‘Fragile Villages’ (Abandoned Villages and Memory; Fragments and Ruins) to the ‘Overtourism of Living Heritage’ (Festivals and Rituals).
