Abstract

Service organizations, as well as manufacturing organizations, may be responsible for important negative environmental impacts. With the object of minimizing them and aiming at those market segments that are sensitive to environmental issues, it would be convenient for service organizations to implement a sustainable design model according to a pollution prevention policy. In an attempt to meet these needs, the authors have recently developed an innovative model based on Quality Function Deployment (QFD) which could support environmentally conscious design of services. The framework of the proposed model is here presented.
