Nowadays the society has begun to demand organizations a commitment to sustainability. Social responsibility may help an organization to understand its performance in relation to society and its impacts on the environment. This awareness can influence the organization in several ways: for example, on its ability to attract investments and resources, in order to improve competitive advantage and achieve sustainable development. To that aim, social responsibility makes use of tools, methodologies and initiatives. One methodology, developed in the UNEP initiative, called Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA) appears as a solution to help organizations to evaluate the social profile of their products life cycles. The S-LCA framework is at a very early stage; therefore case-studies are needed.

Social responsibility may help an organization to understand its performance in relation to society and its impacts on the environment. To that aim, social responsibility makes use of tools, methodologies and initiatives. One methodology, developed in the UNEP initiative, called Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA) appears as a solution to help organizations to evaluate the social profile of their products life cycles. The S-LCA framework is at a very early stage; therefore case-studies are needed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
