The complexity and the dynamism of the environment like as the presence of "human individuals" in the company (often cause of the lack of rationality) include risk factors in both to the achievement of several targets and in business management, like also performance management and management control. Companies wishing to give "continuity" to their businesses must be careful to "dominate the present and anticipate the future". it is need to program what are the goals and check that the results are consistent with the planned strategy. How these operations happen in a wine company? Increasingly, in the last years, the "wine made in Italy" has registered a large growth and a good reputation in the world. An internationalization process that involves organizational solutions and new and delicate management choices. Companies of in this sector must approach the new logics and the new tools of strategic control with special attention into the identification of risks of this business. The wine business is distinguished from the other sectors as it is an activity traditionally influenced by uncontrollable factors, like the weather: they can greatly affect the outcome of economic activity. The last events of globalization that involved the international food markets, also the reform of the Community policies, caused many transformations in the strategic environment of food businesses, so also in the wine businesses. It is growing the level of competition and consequently the entrepreneurial risk. The goal of this paper is to analyze, within a family business winery, what are the problems that is facing when companies work in this sector, with refer to management control. Even more if the observed company produces wine from biodynamic agriculture, so on the one hand with even more risks, but on the other hand, there are a lot positive aspects to consider, such as the improvement of intangibles, such as trust, credibility, reputation. They taking an increasingly prominent role on the field of sustainable development. Dominate the present and anticipate the future. Another "imperative" to include in an efficient system of management control. In this paper, thank to the study of this family company, we attempt to build a framework about a reporting system that attempt to meet these needs and at the same time it heeds both tangible and intangible assets. In the second step of this research, in the next future research work, we plan to implement it in this family business this reporting system and we can evaluate the results in terms of effectiveness and efficiency.
