The study of ancient production activities provides information on a range of fundamental issues, in particular it allows to analyze socio-economic relationships and to understand the technical aspects of production itself. This can be accomplished by archaeometallurgical analysis, a field of study established in the 60s by the pioneering work of Tylecote who called for the application of scientific methods in the study of ancient metallurgy. This article discusses production indicators discovered during archaeological excavations conducted for the construction of Metro C, in Room N of the Athenaeum of Adrian in Rome.

Abstract
The study of ancient production activities provides information on a range of fundamental issues, in particular it allows to analyze socio-economic relationships and to understand the technical aspects of production itself. This can be accomplished by archaeometallurgical analysis, a field of study established in the 60s by the pioneering work of Tylecote who called for the application of scientific methods in the study of ancient metallurgy. This article discusses production indicators discovered during archaeological excavations conducted for the construction of Metro C, in Room N of the Athenaeum of Adrian in Rome.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
