The paper presents an experience, which aims to combine the needs of general didactics with those of disciplinary didactics. It was carried out during a learning design laboratory for the course of Teorie e Metodi di Progettazione e Valutazione Scolastica in the Primary Education Sciences degree course. The laboratory, set up according to the modality of cognitive apprenticeship, used an artefact designed and built to guide students in the design activity but also to activate the necessary reflective posture for the didactic action. The use of this descriptive and reflexive artefact has brought out a series of interesting aspects on the specificity of the design action for the future teacher in a desired and necessary integration between pedagogical-didactical and epistemological instances.

Abstract
